Welcome to the Penn State Center for Advanced Power Generation (CAPG). This website is currently under construction. The technology focus of the CAPG is the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) advanced power generation system. The IGCC power plant employs coal gasification, CO₂ capture and CO₂ sequestration technology integrated with combined cycle electricity generation, and when successfully developed will be the world’s first zero emissions fossil fuel power plant.
